The work was started in 1972 by the Baptist foreign missionaries. It was formally organised into Emmanuel Baptist Church on 5th October 1975. Since that time, the EBC had moved into four different locations to accomodate the growth. Presently there are four different congregations ( English, Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and Hokkien) meeting regularly with an average attendance of more than 400 people every Sunday.
EBC had planted a daughter church at Kampung Sikog in December 1986. Since then the Sikog Baptist Church has grown in size and also planted another outreach point at Kampung Mambong.
Emmanuel Baptist Church has grown from a church of youngsters to a church of working adults and families with diverse ministries catering to the needs of the members. Presently, there are four full time staff members with Pastor David Kueh as the Senior Pastor.
